Maternal health disparities persist. Learn how we’re supporting mothers and training providers to close the gap.
Dear friend,
As we celebrate Black History Month, we recognize the urgent need to address Black maternal mental health.
Black women in the U.S. experience higher rates of maternal mental health conditions, such as postpartum depression and anxiety, yet they are less likely to receive adequate care due to systemic barriers in healthcare. With Black mothers facing a three to four times higher maternal mortality rate than white mothers, the importance of accessible, culturally competent mental health support cannot be overstated.
At Seleni, we are committed to closing this gap by providing high-quality training for providers, expanding mental health resources, and providing specialized therapy. This month, we highlight key initiatives, events, and resources that help drive this mission forward.
We are grateful for your continued support and dedication to advancing mental health for all. Together, we can make a meaningful impact.
Team Seleni had a blast at the ACGME conference as this year's featured educational resource. We explored the power of Complex Conversations in Healthcare—tackling tough topics, sharing transformative insights, and shaping the future of patient care.
Have you considered how improving communication can transform your patient interactions? Our online training (2 CMEs) provides practical strategies to handle difficult conversations with confidence and care.
Difficult conversations in healthcare are inevitable, but with the right strategies, you can reduce stress, build trust, and improve patient care.

"I went into therapy feeling like a child and came out feeling like I had truly grown as an adult. I do not think I would have the healthy relationship I have today with my two children without the support I received from Seleni."
