April 24-30th marks National Infertility Awareness Week. At Seleni, one of our main priorities is to support those who struggle with deeply emotional topics such as infertility. In honor of this week and the women who face this challenge, we are offering a free training to professionals to help better equip them with caring for patients who may be experiencing infertility and support their pathways forward. We are also offering guidance for individuals and couples in our Insights and Resources section below.
We have also announced our first round of Mental Health Professional Scholarship recipients for 2022. Our next round of scholarships will feature our Expectant Therapist Training, in celebration of Mother's Day in the U.S. next month.
We hope the spring season is encouraging our community to enjoy the warmer weather, sunshine and blooming surroundings.
Family building in the modern era has become increasingly more inclusive as advances like assisted reproductive technology (ART) and third-party reproduction have expanded the available paths to parenthood. In this free lesson, ART and Third Party Reproduction, clinicians will learn about effective and sensitive interventions that address the needs of individuals and couples undergoing these procedures. Learn more about continuing education at Seleni on our training site.
Our new support group for single parents by choice led by Dr. Erica Mindes and Dr. Claudia Pascale is held virtually every month. Our next sessions will be on May 4th and June 1st. The topics to be covered in those sessions are “Dealing with comments from family, friends and acquaintances” and “Need for support: creating a village."
In honor of the spring season, Seleni is pleased to award its first round of the Scholarship for Maternal Mental Health Professionals for 2022. To learn more about the recipients and how to apply for the next round in honor of US Mother's Day, click here.
